Medford Railroad Park

At the Medford Railroad Park, there are plenty of things for the family to do. The main attractions are the 7.5" gauge trains that you can ride, affectionately known as "Steamers". If you haven't been back for a while, you're in for some surprises as the club has done a lot of new renovations to the tracks, expanding and landscaping improvements along with bridges and mini buildings.

Also, the Rogue Valley Model RR club holds an open house at the park, during this same time with upgrades and renovations to the model. Also the Medford Garden Railroaders have grown with more trackage and scenery than before.

The picnic area is open year round but the attractions (train rides, model railroads) are open on every 2nd and 4th Sunday from April through October, 11:00-3:00.

Kids and adults love to ride the trains at the park. Here are some Highlights of a typical day at the park riding the rails with the Southern Oregon Live Steamers Club

I revisited the Railroad Park after several years. Many things have changed and grown for both the Southern Oregon Live Steamers Club and the So. Ore. Chapter Natl Rail Historical Society

One Rough Day. Nothing seemed to go right for the club members this day. A page with great close ups of the 7.5" gauge steam and "diesel" powered locomotives.

Updated: 04-27-09 A trip to the park wouldn't be complete without paying a visit to the large HO model train layout housed in the annex, home of the Rogue Valley Model RR Club.
