Heceta Head lighthouse

The state of Oregon has 9 lighthouses along it's rocky shoreline. Lighthouses represent a part of our past as well as our present. Although the Coast Guard had decommissioned all lighthouses and many around the country have fallen into disrepair or have been replaced with boring, automated beacons, seven out of nine of Oregon's sentinels still light the way to safety, due to public and historical societies efforts.

We have recently become fascinated with these maritime treasures and in these pages you will find photographs and information on several of these beautiful structures. So far we have visited seven of the nine lighthouses, and we will have more pages available soon!
